For basement finishers
Every house that sells near you has a floor nobody finished.
An unfinished basement is the biggest room a new owner just bought and cannot use. We show them that exact basement finished by you, same stairs, same windows, lights on.
From 100 dollars a week for 20 cards. Everything included. Cancel any time.

01 · We read the house
We read the room the way you would.
02 · Reserved to you
Reserved to you. For good.
Sample house · Sold 3 days ago · Built 2001 · Basement
When a house near you sells, we read its listing facts room by room for the signs your trade replaces.
1234signs your trade replaces
4 of 4 signs. Then we score the house for your kind of work, and it is reserved to you only if it clears your floor.
Finishing and a basement bathroom are one kind of work, so an unfinished basement reserved to you hears from no other finisher.
One firm per house and kind of work. Once your card is mailed, that house can never go to another firm in your trade.
03 · Finished in your style
The same basement, finished your way.
Pick a style. The walls, windows and layout stay put. Only your work changes.

04 · Your card
Your logo. Your number. Their room.
Set in real type from what you approve, so a phone number never comes out wrong.
04 · Your card
6 by 9 inches. First-Class.
The back says what you do and carries a plain note that both pictures are illustrations.
05 · Into the mail
Then it goes in the mail.
First-Class, to the house that sold, expected in 2 to 7 business days. We say expected, never "delivered": no mailbox has a scanner, so nobody can honestly tell you the moment a card lands.

Day 5 to 10 · Your phone
And your phone rings.
It rings your own number.
One local tracking number, issued when your campaign goes live and printed on every card. It rings the phone you already carry.
You know before you say hello.
Pick up and you hear "Lowlight Basements, this is a call from your postcard campaign." Then the caller is put through.
Every call is logged.
Number, time and length land on your dashboard, matched to the house that got your card when we can.
Recording stays off unless you switch it on, and callers are told first.
Calls
Every call to the tracking number printed on your cards, matched back to the house that got the card when we can.
Example calls. Every name and number here is fictional.
The floor plan
Light it up, room by room.
Their basement, drawn from above. Tap a room to finish it. The stair, the windows, the furnace and the water heater never move, so the owners know it is their basement.
Tap a room to finish it.
Your card's back carries their basement laid out room by room. Three finishes are rendered here; a bathroom in the rough in corner is drawn on the plan.
Your card, up close
Front and back, every corner working.
The floor plan: their basement laid out room by room. A 6 by 9 inch card with First-Class postage, set from what you approve, a picture on both faces and no empty corner.

Sample card for Lowlight Basements, a fictional firm in Chicago. Phone numbers in the 555 range are reserved for examples.
The numbers
One basement finish pays for 90 weeks of cards.
Every number here is borrowed from a published source and labelled with it. None of them is a promise, and we never quote a call rate, because nobody has measured one for this product yet.
Prepared for basement finishers
| One typical basement finish | 30,000 dollars |
|---|---|
| Gross profit at a 30% margin | 9,000 dollars |
| Cards that pays for, at 5.00 each | 1,800 cards |
| Weeks of the 20 card plan | 90 weeks |
Borrowed: a typical basement finish and a planning margin from published basement finishing cost guides. Derived: our arithmetic. We have not measured how many cards turn into a job, so this is only the point where one job covers the cards. Basements are strongest for us in Chicago, Cleveland and Denver. Phoenix houses rarely have one.
Year one in a new house
Buyers of existing homes spend about 4.0 times what owners who stayed spend on basement finishing.
Borrowed: NAHB special study, Spending Patterns of Home Buyers, 2022, from federal Consumer Expenditure Survey data, 2017 to 2020.
Basements are a winter trade. Searches for basement finishing peak in January, at about 1.35 times an average month, while most trades slow down.
Exclusive · Basements
Reserved, for good.
One house. One kind of work. One firm.
Finishing and a basement bathroom are one kind of work, so an unfinished basement reserved to you hears from no other finisher.
Never sold to
- Another basement finisher
- A basement bathroom company
May still mail it
- A kitchen, bathroom or flooring firm
They sell a different kind of work, so we say so up front.
Enforced by our database, not by a promise in an email: one live holder per house and kind of work, and a house whose card has been mailed is never released to anyone else.
Questions basements ask
Straight answers.
A person reads every message. If yours is not here, ask it on the sample card form below.
01Do I get the buyer's name and phone number?
No. We never sell lists or contact details. The card goes to the new owners at the house, addressed to Current Resident, with your name and number on it, so the call they make is to you.
02Partly finished basements?
They qualify where framing, bare slab or open joists still show. Finished and recently carpeted basements are skipped.
03Do you work in Phoenix?
We do, but Phoenix houses rarely have a basement. This trade is strongest for us in Chicago, Cleveland and Denver.
04Will the finished picture show egress windows we would have to add?
No. It keeps today's windows where they are. Code work is yours to quote.
05Will another basement company mail the same house?
Never. Finishing and a basement bathroom are one kind of work.
06Is it really a basement, or a garage?
A garage has been called a basement before, so every card is checked against the listing before it prints.
07How many basements sell near me?
We count the unfinished basements that sold near you before you pay. If your area cannot fill a plan, we tell you.
08Is the before picture one of their listing photos?
No. Nothing printed is a listing photograph. The before is an illustration of their basement that we generate from the facts of the listing, and the card says in print that both pictures are illustrations.
